The fortnightly Research Café provides outstanding research networking opportunities at UTS. Held throughout 2025, these vibrant sessions have enabled academic researchers and professional staff to keep up to date with some of the amazing research underway at UTS, discover how to engage with various funding and development programs and make valuable new connections.

“From Deep Sector Engagement and global rankings to social impact, innovation and community building, each session showcased the breadth of UTS research and the power of collaboration,” said host, intern Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) Distinguished Professor Alaina Ammit.
More than 80 researchers and professional staff presented in 17 Research Café sessions this year from March to November to around 600 guests.
Contributing to a more connected research culture
Throughout 2024 and 2025, the Research Café series has fostered cross-disciplinary networking and collaboration, supporting research capability development and knowledge sharing.
“By providing a welcoming and regular platform for collaboration, Research Café improves all of our knowledge of both research activities and researcher development opportunities offered across the university, supporting UTS’s strategic objectives and fostering a connected research community,” Alaina said.
