Researcher Insights is an online dashboard that provides information about research income, research outputs (publications and non-traditional research outputs), HDR load and completions, for the current year and for the past four years. Researchers can only see their own information in this report. The dashboard provides easy, transparent and up to date access to research data held in several of the university’s databases.
Researcher Insights reports on the following data:
- Publications and other related outputs such as NTROs (Non-Traditional Research Outputs) that are currently held in the Symplectic Elements database, managed through the Research Office (RO).
- Research Income (including grants and donations); data is held in both the ResearchMaster (RM) database in the form of Research Projects, and in the Financial General Ledger, in the form of research income received. The former is managed by the Research Office, the latter by the Financial Services Unit (FSU).
- Higher Degree by Research (HDR) student enrolment, progression and completions data, which is held in the Course Administration System Solution (CASS) database, and owned by the Graduate Research School (GRS)
This data comes is collected from four different sources:
- UTS Financial General Ledger (FSU) for data on External Research Income.
- ResearchMaster (RO) for data on Research Project information, including co-participants and funders.
- Symplectic Elements (RO) for data on Research Outputs information, including co-authors.
- UTS Curriculum Advisory and Support Service, CASS (UTS Student Admin Unit/ GRS) for data on HDR enrolments and progression data.
