For those dealing with multiple data sources, Intersect Australia’s training workshop in March will introduce you to NVivo, a tool that helps you to organise research data from surveys, interviews, articles and videos to emails, social media and web content, PDFs and images.
Getting started with NVivo for Windows

NVivo supports qualitative and mixed method research. It is designed to organise, analyse and visualise unstructured or qualitative data.
Intersect course facilitator Jianzhou Zhao recommends NVivo as a highly useful research tool.
"Does your research see you working through unstructured and non-numerical data like survey responses and social media posts? With the ability to collect, store and analyse different data types all in the one location, it’s easy to see why NVivo is becoming the tool of choice for many researchers," he said.
NVivo allows you to code your data so you can discover trends and compare themes as they emerge across different sources and data types. You can also integrate NVivo memos and visualisations with popular bibliographic tools, making your research ready for publication sooner.
About the workshop
In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of NVivo including how to import data, create nodes and produce basic visualisations.
