Research Funding
UTS researchers can access funding through internal and external grants, including national and international programs, internal schemes and prizes and awards.
Learn more about the various types of funding and how to be notified of relevant grants and awards through Pivot-RP, a searchable database of research funding opportunities and collaborators across all disciplines and project types.
Be sure to notify your Faculty Research team and the Research Office of your intention to apply for funding as early as possible (ideally at least 6 months before the closing date) and submit your proposal through Research Master to allow adequate time for feedback and review.
How to apply for funding
Found a relevant funding opportunity? Follow these steps:
- Read the grant guidelines to check your eligibility.
- Discuss your intention to apply for funding and seek agreement from your Faculty Research team as early as possible.
- Notify the Research Office well ahead of the external deadline to ensure this is the best opportunity for you.
- Draft and submit your proposal through Research Master well in advance of the closing date for review and approval.
- Once approved by the Research Office, your proposal can be submitted to the funder.
If you did not succeed in a funding application, discuss with your Faculty Research team and the Research Office whether your application could be redirected towards another opportunity.
