The Australian Economic Accelerator (AEA) is supported by the Government’s $1.6 billion investment into Australian university research commercialisation. Tranche 3 will seek to support projects for research commercialisation activity on the following priority areas:
Defence: Advanced manufacturing products designed as fundamental inputs to defence capability
Transport: Advanced manufacturing of any of the following products: aircraft, road vehicles, rail vehicles or ships; manufacturing products for use in or in connection with aircraft, road vehicles, rail vehicles or ships. It does not include common use infrastructure such as roads or railways, however it could include the products and components used in infrastructure, such as road surfacing materials or rail sleepers.
Enabling capabilities: Advanced manufacturing technologies for any sector (Australian business). Advanced manufacturing technologies include:
Additive manufacturing
Advanced composite materials
High specification machining processes
Semiconductors
Advanced integrated circuit manufacture
A funding amount of $12 million is available for Tranche 3, with $50,000 to $500,000 available for each project that pursues a commercial and translation outcome in the above priority areas.
