Cognos

IBM Cognos Business Intelligence is a web-based integrated business intelligence suite offered by IBM. It  integrates reporting, modelling, analysis, dashboards, stories, and event management so that you can understand your organization's data, and make effective business decisions.

Cognos provides various features to perform data aggregation and create user-friendly detailed reports, offering an option to export reports in XML or PDF format and view the reports in XML format. It is also the software underlying tools like My Researcher Dashboard or Project Financial Management Information for Researchers (PFMIR).

Access

		UTS Students. Use your UTS Student Number and password to login.
		UTS Professional and Academic Staff. Use your UTS Staff ID and password to login.

Using IBM Cognos 

Getting started

• If you are on-campus,  you will be able to browse and search freely but to access IBM Cognos whilst working from home/off campus, login to the UTS VPN using your UTS login and password and select "BI Production”.

Troubleshooting 

If you are unable successfully access IBM Cognos Analytics check you are using the recommended compatible browser (Chrome) and that your internet connection is strong and stable.  Ensure you have used the correct UTS ID and password to login. If you are both a UTS Staff Member and Student, try to log in with the alternative details. 

UTS MyAccount allows you to change your password and security questions. If you would like to change your password or security questions, go to MyAccount, log in and follow the prompts. If you need to reset your password, read the full instructions and use the UTS Password Reset self-service.

If issues persist, log an IT ServiceConnect ticket. Be sure to include the error message you are receiving so IT can investigate.
