Open Access Week is an international campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of community control over knowledge-sharing systems. This year's theme, "Community over Commercialisation", emphasises the need to prioritise open scholarship approaches that serve the best interests of both the public and the academic community.

How UTS Library Supports Open Access Publishing
UTS Library is committed to supporting Open Access publishing by providing resources and guidance to researchers. Our services include assistance with navigating Open Access publishing options, understanding copyright considerations, and ensuring your work reaches a global audience while maintaining academic rigor and integrity.
The Library is a member of a range of Read and Publish Agreements that alleviate the burden of Article Processing Charges (APC) with select publishers. Details are on the Library web site.
We also run two key publishing services:
- OPUS: Open Publications of UTS Scholars
OPUS is the UTS Institutional Repository which showcases UTS research excellence to a world-wide audience. OPUS collects, preserves, indexes, and disseminates the research outputs of UTS staff and postgraduate students, providing free global access to the full-text where possible. - UTS ePress
An established diamond open access publisher that has a catalogue of books, journals, conferences and open textbooks that are freely available to read, access and share.
Join us for Open Access Week 2024 and be part of this important conversation about the future of open scholarship. Together, we can prioritise community over commercialisation and ensure that knowledge remains accessible and beneficial to all.
