Distinguished Professor Chen will be among the program’s mentors, offering participants the benefit of her award-winning expertise in using AI and machine learning to solve problems.
“UTS has a strong foundation in AI research and application, making this the perfect time to leverage our strengths. I believe that by fostering this type of innovation, we can not only address unmet needs but also create meaningful contributions to society and the economy, "Professor Chen said.
About the opportunity
The UTS AI Accelerator aims to improve connectivity between this AI capability and people with ideas, providing cash support and industry-leading mentorship over a three-month period.
This Accelerator isn’t just about tech for tech’s sake. Its goal is to leverage existing AI capabilities to deliver impact, whether that is in the form of a commercial product or service based on the application of AI, or the application of AI to solve social, cultural or environmental problems.
“I believe AI presents the largest opportunity from technology in our lifetimes, and this program is aimed squarely at making sure UTS is helping progress this opportunity for our community,” said UTS Director of Entrepreneurship, Murray Hurps, who will also be a mentor on the Accelerator.
“Our AI research capability is unparalleled, as is our industry engagement, and this program is another important step for both.”
