The course explores how GenAI can support data analysis, coding assistance, academic writing, and research dissemination.
Course Description
GenAI201 builds on the foundations introduced in GenAI101 and focuses on applying Generative AI to the later stages and more advanced use cases of the research lifecycle, where technical workflows and research outputs become central. The course explores how GenAI can support data analysis, coding assistance, academic writing, and research dissemination.
Participants learn practical workflows for working with AI tools to analyse data, generate and refine code, visualise results, and draft research outputs. The course emphasises maintaining methodological rigor, verifying AI-assisted outputs, and documenting AI use appropriately in scholarly work.
By the end of the course, participants will understand how to incorporate GenAI strategically into data analysis, publication, and research communication processes, improving productivity while preserving research integrity.
You'll learn
- Using GenAI tools to assist with data exploration and analysis workflows
- AI-assisted coding and debugging for research projects
- Generating and refining data visualisations
- Structuring and drafting academic papers with AI support
- Using GenAI to prepare presentations and research summaries
- Best practices for documenting and verifying AI-assisted research outputs
