The development program run in collaboration with Serendis Leadership aims to develop the next UTS professoriate cohort and further strengthen UTS’ mentoring culture by supporting and promoting mid-career academics.
This cross-discipline and faculty initiative combines mentoring sessions between mentees and mentors with a structured and interactive program of events and workshops between March and October 2026.
Facilitated sessions provide career, leadership and mentoring development frameworks to drive the mentoring conversations as well as broader skill development of the participants. Mentees and mentors meet one-on-one over the course of the program.
“Having facilitated this program with UTS academics for the past 4 years, it is rewarding to see how participants have maximised the experience to clarify and action the contribution they want to make in their career, field and to UTS, “ said Bianca Havas, a Director of Serendis Leadership Consulting.
“The peer relationships formed between academics across all UTS Faculties, and the structured learning provides a supported environment for academics to progress their leadership, mentoring and processional development.”

While mentee applications for 2026 have closed, mentors are still in demand.
For the UTS professoriate, the program provides an opportunity to demonstrate mentorship and influence beyond one's own research area.
“The most significant benefit of participating in this program is building meaningful connections with aligned goals while gaining a scientific understanding of mentorship,” said Indra Mahlia, who participated in the program in 2024.
“MentorKey provides tailored guidance and insights into the needs of future leaders, fostering professional growth. Its structured framework and community support make achieving goals more efficient, added NAME who participated in the program in YEAR
