Research Communication

UTS supports the creation of a high-performing, talent-based research culture so that our people—academics and professional staff at UTS—are sophisticated in their approach to research communication and are skilled in their ability to disseminate and communicate research outcomes.

Knowledge of:

• Different approaches to communicating, disseminating, and promoting research outcomes.

• UTS best practice, resources and support to develop a research communication plan.
• Understanding the power of clear graphical visualisation.

Ability to:

• Identify the pros and cons of different styles and channels for research communication.
• Tailor research communication to target diverse audiences.
• Use media skills to effectively present research.
• Articulate clearly the value of research.
• Write clearly with Impact (e.g. case studies, impact statements; research translation into stories and messages).
• Integrate a communication plan into research project design.
• Recognize appropriate applications of graphical visualisation.

• Give rightful acknowledgement of all contributors to, and supporters of, research communicated, published, presented.
