UTS supports the creation of a high-performing, talent-based research culture so that our people—academics and professional staff at UTS—are able to demonstrate scale and diversification in planning, applying, and securing external research funding.

  • The eligibility requirements of different funding schemes.
  • The funding priorities of different funding schemes.
  • The UTS Research Strategy.
  • UTS resources and support to identify research funding opportunities and to develop competitive funding applications. 

Ability to:

  • Identify and seek appropriate sources of funding support.
  • Incorporate a funding strategy into short- and long-term research plans.
  • Write a funding application, including those for a multidisciplinary audience.

Confidence to:

  • Actively plan and pursue a funding strategy.
  • Develop a confidentiality strategy to meet the requirements of funding bodies and partners, where required.
  • Proactively seek to diversify and scale-up funding sources to support research.
  • Align research goals to those of UTS and funding bodies.
